The DRAC5 is an old remote access card, found on servers such as the PowerEdge 300, 2950, 1950 etc. I have one built in about 2007. Trying to use it today with modern browsers and JREs will lead to errors, mainly due to added security improvements/checks which have been implemented since then.
Fortunately, there → Read More: Accessing a Dell DRAC5 from Windows 10

2019 06 11 update:
GetIF is still working on Win10 1903. And I found that there’s a somewhat simpler way to make it work in win10: right click on the getif.exe executable, properties, compatibility and choos to run it in XP sp2 compatibility environment. Put the two files MSFlxGrd.ocx and MSChrt20.ocx (found → Read More: GetIF.exe on Windows 10

I just updatet my Windows 10. after rebooting, it notifies me that the Cisco vpn client app had been removed because it is not compatible with the current OS.
But the app is indeed still installed, only not working. I did these steps to recover it, which resemble the original procedure to make VPN Client → Read More: Cisco VPN Client is still working on Windows 10 anniversary update

While I try to get used to the new Windows 10 OS, I think it can be worth mentioning two utility programs which are not officially documented to be working on this OS but I found them to have no problems.

This is covered in an article by Zotac, and worked well for me. The utility provided → Read More: Windows 7 setup on Zotac BI323 hangs at “Completing Installation”

I changed the WiFi NIC in my notebook. After that I discovered that the new NIC did not have access to the saved WiFi secrets that where saved prior to chaning it.
I ran a well known utility from NirSoft, wirelesskeyview. Thank you again, Nir. The utility confirmed what was easy to argue, that → Read More: Recover saved wifi passwords after changing wireless adapter

I had to connect a Windows 2012 machine machine behind NAT to a CentOS 7 ipsec gateway with libreswan. No l2tp, just plain IPSec. The windows machine itself was not a gateway, it was connected “alone”. So in my case there was no need for using RRAS. I found it difficult to find → Read More: IPSec VPN between Linux and Windows 2012

I ran into a problem widely documented on the Internet. Using a USB 3G Huawei Internet key (in particular for me it is an E1692), for some reason the vpn created with Cisco VPN Client does not work. Indeed, the vpn is regularly established, but no packet is effectively routed through the vpn itself. Googling → Read More: Fixed: Cisco VPN Client, a Huawei 3G usb key and network sniffing
